Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially became one of 36th universities in the world that collaborate with Babson College, United State of America (USA), a campus that based in Wellesley, Massachusetts with the main focus of entrepreneurship education. Babson College currently placed on 126 on America according to The World University Rank (WUR) and for 30 years became ranked number one business school on America.
The rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si explained that collaboration with Babson College that focused on entrepreneurship and business will help USU’s reputation on international world. Prof Muryanto hoped that by coming to Babson College, USU can get a wonderful experience so that USU can be a university with international reputation.
On their visit to Babson College, USU is greeted by Dean of Babson Academy and Global Education Amir Reza and the Director of The Babson Collaborative, Jamie Kendrioski and The Director of University Relations Babson Academy, Jean Ann Schulte. Dean of the Babson Academy and Global Education Amir Reza take the collaboration with USU very well and hope that the collaboration with USU can raise the quality of education for the both universities.
There are many activities at Babson College that have been scheduled, which is discussions regarding the development of an entrepreneurial university ecosystem, campus tours, and the signing of the “Babson Collaborative Agreement and Babson Pathway Agreement” between Babson College and Universitas Sumatera Utara. Prof Muryanto explained that USU itself had started to develop the entrepreneurial university by combining learning program, research and innovation to raise the entrepreneurial spirit of students and lecturers as well as alignment of innovation and industry.
Before Babson, Prof. Muryanto Amin also visits Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) to establish a partnership, USU establish a partnership on two universities with international reputation as a form of implementation of Campus Internationalization proclaimed by USU in the five years of rector Prof. Muryanto Amin’ leadership.
